Hunting Federation of Macedonia and Thrace

Description

The activities of the Hunting Federations are based on modern wildlife management standards.

In particular, the Hunting Federation of Macedonia and Thrace (KOMATH):

a) Participates in the protection and conservation of the natural environment;

b) Implements programmes for the monitoring and assessment of wildlife populations and their habitats;

c) Implements habitat improvement programmes in Wildlife Refuges and hunting grounds;

d) Keeps the Hunting Associations within its area of responsibility informed about current developments, while planning, coordinating and harmonising their activities, providing financial support and directing their efforts towards specific objectives in order to maximise their effectiveness;

e) Informs hunters and the general public through presentations in the mass media and through the publication of books, magazines and information materials;

f) Develops social initiatives and maintains relations with representatives of the State, Local Government Authorities, Forest Authorities, universities and research centres, various public-law legal entities, associations and organisations dedicated to the protection of the natural environment and wildlife, journalists from the daily press and specialised hunting press, educational organisations, schools, etc.;

g) Provides systematic training and professional development for its staff; and

h) Works towards implementing a programme aimed at reaching, informing and educating all hunters within its area of responsibility.
