Zagora Pelion Agricultural Cooperative

The Zagora Pelion Agricultural Cooperative is one of the oldest agricultural cooperatives in Greece, having been founded in 1916 by 199 residents of Zagora. In 1985, the Cooperative entered a new phase of activity as an organised commercial enterprise. Its trademark was officially registered, and every authentic Zagorin apple bears the distinctive sticker that identifies it as a genuine product.

In 1996, the Cooperative received Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) recognition from the European Union. Since then, Zagorin apples have reached markets around the world and established a presence in international markets, building on more than 100 years of continuous production and activity in the agricultural sector.

The Zagora Pelion Agricultural Cooperative produces carefully inspected, high-quality apples, certified and protected under the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) scheme. This distinction certifies that Zagorin apples meet high-quality standards and comply with specific production requirements.

Through the application of Integrated Production methods, Zagorin apples are produced under controlled and environmentally responsible conditions, ensuring high standards of quality and food safety. This quality is trusted by consumers both in Greece and internationally.
