Hellenic Cement Industry Association
Description
The Hellenic Cement Industry Association was founded in 1962 and its headquarters are located in Athens. Its members are the three cement industries active in Greece, namely: Heracles General Cement Company S.A., TITAN Cement Company S.A., Heidelberg Materials Hellas S.A.
It is an active member of Cement Europe (European Cement Association) and a member of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV).
It is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of representatives of the Member companies. The President is elected between the Members every three years after a voting.
The Associations’ activities include, among others:
- Cooperation with the competent national authorities for mutual updates and awareness on the sector’s issues.
- Proposal of legislative and other measures for the improvement of the sector’s operational status.
- Provision of technical information for cement and concrete from the Association’s Technical Department.
- Provision of information about the production and consumption of cement in Greece and internationally.
- Contribution to education by:
- organizing workshops and training seminars on specialized issues,
- technical and general information publications.
- Contribution to research on the uses of cement and concrete through:
- collaboration with Universities, research institutions and member-companies,
- financing of research programs.
- Contribution to drafting of specifications, standards and regulations at national and European level.
- Cooperation with other sectors of the Greek industry.
