Expertise description Our research group has wide experience in the development of carbon materials with particular characteristics that can be used in energy-related processes and emissions reduction. The team has a strong ability to perform a complete characterization (textural, structural, chemical and electrochemical) of different carbon materials. This includes activated carbons, meso and microporous carbons, carbon gels, graphene materials. This comprehensive characterization allows us to analyse the effects of these features, either individually or jointly, in the final application in which the material will be used. At this time we are focused on the use of biomass waste as feedstock in order to obtain new materials and compounds with high added value.
